Lung Center of the Philippines

With one unit of AQMS owned and operated by the Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) and situated along its hospital compound in Quezon Avenue, QC, the Rotary Club of Makati inked with LCP an agreement for data-viewing tie-up. The LCP-AQMS serves as a third source of air quality information for the RCM-AQMS, to complement the two systems already installed in Ayala Ave., Makati and EDSA Munoz.

The signatories to the agreement were Pres. Eddie Yap, Community Service Dir. Eddie Galvez, and PP Roland Young, Environment Committee chair for the Club, and for the Lung Center, Dr. Jose Luis Danguilan, executive director.

The agreement calls for a data sharing arrangement that will allow the Club access to air quality readings from the Center’s monitoring station. Already in operation, the Lung Center station is equipped with an advanced model of the German-made GRIMM EDM365E. Like the machine to be installed in the Club-operated facility, the Lung Center station can automatically and continuously measure and record airborne particulate levels for PM10, PM2.5, and PM10-2.5. It also has meteorological sensors that measure temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction and is accompanied by a data logger that transmits data wirelessly to a server, which in turn provides to designated media partners access to readings and health advisories for easy public access via an app.
